I’m currently sitting in Bachelors Gulch, Colorado nestled up in front of a cozy fire with a sacred group of friends. These women have become so special to me over the last year, and when Megan offered for us to come to her special place we all jumped at the chance to spend time with each other before the holidays.
Have you ever participated in a favorite things gift exchange? Penny suggested this idea for our gathering and it was so FUN!
How to host a favorite things gift exchange
Set a monetary restriction - for our’s we selected under $25 ( however, the girls let me know they have done this several times - the highest being $50 and the lowest being $5)
Set a theme for the gift exchange - cooking, general, beauty, sports (for our gathering we chose general)
Place emphasis on not stressing and overthinking the gift
Define the time and place gifts will be exchanged - we opted for the night of our arrival next to the fireplace :)
When gifts are exchanged, the giver passes out the gifts and tells the “why” behind the gift (again, no pressure just a quick sentence or two about why it was meaningful to them, or why this has become a favorite or must-have staple in their life)
